The Wheatley Redevelopment is the historic renovation of a former MPS school into mixed-income apartments. The 84,000 SF school building was constructed in 1902 with additions completed in the 1960s and 1970s. The existing school building includes 42 units and provides an array of amenities including useful educational, wellness, and entrepreneurial programming and support for residents and neighbors. The project is an affordable housing development in the State of Wisconsin and relies on a number of funding sources including TIF, State, Federal, and Historic tax credits.
