Advanced Restoration is proud to be collaborating on the Thrive On King project funded by Royal Capital Group. Formerly home to Gimbels-Shuster’s, this building will be restored and re-purposed for the community of Milwaukee, home to the heart of three vital north side neighborhoods – Halyard Park, Harambee, and Brewers Hill. This location offers the opportunity to fulfill the vision to bring economic and social benefits to communities of color disproportionately affected by disparities.
Advanced Restoration’s scope of work included the following: replacing and repairing any damaged steel supports above windows, entire demolition/removal of sheet metal that used to cover the building, tuckpointing, and brick replacement of the all elevations. New construction of a ninety-six-foot elevator shaft, new CMU firewalls, and new doorway infills. This project has required diligent work with Milwaukee’s historical society to get accurate materials and preserve the timeless age and history of the building.
