Originally constructed in 1894, The Gold Medal Lofts is the adaptive reuse in Racine of what used to be the Gold Medal Furniture Company’s industrial complex. This historic renovation consisted of the existing freight elevator converted into passenger cars, complete tuckpointing of the exterior brick facade, as well as the creation of new openings for windows and unit entries via masonry-saw cutting.
